Fall foliage in Central Park
I love Central Park and I love fall, so I was super excited to get to visit New York City when the leaves would be changing.
I had been to Central Park before, but because it’s so big, I decided to go on a walking tour to make the most of my time. This Central Park Environs tour was a great decision.
Michael Hunt leads these tours, which last around two hours and cover a good portion of the southern half of Central Park. He is very knowledgeable about the park and will talk basically the entire time about the history and stories of Central Park.
He also snaps photos of you that he will send to you as part of the tour. There was only one other person on my tour, so it was almost private!
We went to famous areas of Central Park, including The Mall and Literary Walk, Bethesda Fountain and Bow Bridge.
Bethesda Terrace and Fountain have been the setting for many movies and TV shows, such as “Elf,” “Home Alone 2,” “Gossip Girl,” “The Avengers” and “Enchanted.”
I also explored Hallett Nature Sanctuary later on my own because I couldn’t get enough of the fall colors.
There are countless ponds, lakes and bridges to explore in the 843-acre park. Beautiful surprises await you at every turn.
Also, check out the Dairy within the park for more information and to purchase souvenirs that support the Central Park Conservancy.
Here are more ideas for things to do in NYC year-round and during the holidays.
