Christmas in Chicago

Millennium Park.JPG

Chicago is a great city to visit for the holidays. There are lots of Christmas trees and decorations all around the city. Just make sure to pack warm clothes because it can be quite chilly. This blog is specific to the holiday season, but also check out my post on my favorite things to do in Chicago year-round.

ZooLights

ZooLights at Lincoln Park Zoo is festive fun for the whole family. While most of the animals are not out, the zoo is decorated with lots of Christmas lights and decorations. They also have rides, a maze and holiday treats.

Christkindlmarket

The Christkindlmarket is an authentic German-style Christmas market in Chicago. Browse the shops for gifts or a treat for yourself. And don’t forget to grab a hot beverage to warm you up!

Walnut Room

The Walnut Room in Macy’s was the first restaurant opened inside a department store. Treat yourself to a holiday meal there and enjoy the beautiful Christmas tree in the center of the restaurant that is decorated by a different designer every year.

Magnificent Mile

Walking around the city, you will see many other seasonal displays to get you in the holiday spirit, including the lights on the Magnificent Mile on Michigan Avenue.

Millennium Park

Finally, be sure to visit Millennium Park to see your reflection in the famous Bean statue. You might just see it covered in snow! There’s also a gorgeous tree nearby. Chicago is definitely a great place to visit around the holidays. What’s your favorite thing to do in Chicago?
