Mile High Bike Tours in Denver

We enjoy biking at home and have found bike tours to be a great way to get a feel for a new city. You get to see where the major attractions are and can decide which ones you want to go back and visit more in depth later. They’re also great when you want to see a lot but don’t have a lot of time.

Bike tour

I was glad to find a bike tour in Denver. We joined Mile High Bike Tours for their Denver City Tour on a picture perfect Sunday afternoon. The tour lasted around three hours and covered 10 miles of biking on mostly flat streets. We had a very friendly guide and it was a very enjoyable way to spend the afternoon.

One of the stops on the tour is the Colorado State Capitol building. It’s quite impressive with its gold dome.

We also went by the Convention Center to see this big blue bear statue that is a little odd but a landmark. We saw a tribute to the gold miners and the Denver Art Museum, as well.

We biked a little outside of the main downtown area to see Empower Field at Mile High Stadium, home of the NFL’s Denver Broncos.

There was also a stop at Union Station. We went inside for a few minutes to check out the shops and restaurants and grab some yummy ice cream. Union Station has recently been renovated and has become more of a place to be.

Seeing the outside of Coors Field was as close as we came this season to seeing our Texas Rangers play at an opponent’s ballpark. We will have to come back sometime to see a Rockies game!

RiNo district

Our tour wrapped up in the RiNo district, famous for its murals and breweries. A fun area to walk around and explore! Check out some more things to do around Denver: Georgetown Loop Railroad, Red Rocks Park, Rocky Mountain National Park, Golden Gate Canyon State Park and the Peak to Peak Highway.
