Exploring Grand Teton National Park

Just outside Jackson Hole, Wyoming, sits Grand Teton National Park. The majestic mountains and alpine lakes are beautiful places to explore.

One of the most breathtaking places in Grand Teton is Jenny Lake. I love the clear blue water against the mountains. You can hike around Jenny Lake or take a boat across the lake.

I took the boat across the lake and then hiked to Hidden Falls, a 100-foot tall cascading waterfall. The hike from the boat dock is about a mile roundtrip with 200 feet of elevation gain.

From Hidden Falls, you can continue hiking to Inspiration Point for amazing views of Jenny Lake below. Going up to Inspiration Point will add another mile and 300 feet of elevation gain to your hike. Be prepared for some rocky, exposed sections.

After enjoying the views and maybe a snack, hike back down and take the boat back across the lake.

Driving around Grand Teton National Park, there are several great places to stop for photo opportunities. One is Oxbow Bend on Highway 89/191 between Jackson Lake Junction and Moran Junction.

Mormon homesteaders established a community in the 1890s known today as Mormon Row. Visit to see the iconic barns and homes still standing. If you’re lucky and the skies are clear, you can see the Teton Range in the distance.

Also check out the Cunningham Cabin, which was built in 1888 in the Appalachian style.

Jackson Lake and Jackson Lake Lodge are great places to grab a bite to eat, whether picnicking or eating inside the lodge.

Check out this huckleberry milkshake from the Pioneer Grill!

For views of the Teton Range, go to Albright View Turnout. On a clear day, the vistas will be amazing.

Finally, Schwabacher Landing has a pond that reflects the Teton Range with spruce and cottonwood trees on either side.

Be on the lookout for wildlife throughout the park! I saw elk, moose, bison and pronghorn.
