Carlsbad Flower Fields
A short drive north of San Diego, you will find The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch, a gorgeous field of 50 acres full of multicolor ranunculus.
The ranunculus are usually in peak bloom from late March to early May. I visited in late March and there were plenty in bloom to see.
You can walk through the fields or take an open-air wagon ride to get an idea of the overall layout.
There were ranunculus in every color you can imagine from pinks to yellows to purples to oranges to reds.
There is also a historic poinsettia display, sweet pea maze and butterfly garden.
If you are there at the right time, you can enjoy the five-acre sea of sunflowers, as well as picking your own blueberries.
If you enjoy flowers, you definitely do not want to miss out on visiting The Flower Fields. And don’t forget your camera! There are photo ops at every turn. Check out more things to do around San Diego: Kayaking, Balboa Park, hiking at Annie’s Canyon and Torrey Pines.
