Monkey Rock hike at Lake Tahoe
Lake Tahoe is simply breathtaking. I visited for the first time in February and could not get over how beautiful it was there.
You have to get out and enjoy all that nature has to offer while in Lake Tahoe and hiking is a great way to do that. There are tons of hikes in the area for all skill levels.
I stayed at the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort in Incline Village, Nevada, and they have an awesome adventure program with complimentary activities for guests.
One activity they offer is a Monkey Rock guided hike. The trail begins near the Ponderosa Ranch (home of “Bonanza”) and is about 2.5 miles out and back with 500 feet of elevation gain.
It’s totally worth it for the amazing views of Lake Tahoe you get along the way.
Once at the top, check out the granite boulder carved by a local to resemble a monkey! I love monkeys, so I was super excited to see this.
There are tons of great photo opportunities everywhere you turn.
