Sunset at Horseshoe Bend

Horseshoe Bend is part of the Colorado River near Page, Arizona. It’s located within Glen Canyon National Recreation Area and has become very popular recently through social media.

The setting is beautiful and it’s only a 1.5 mile hike roundtrip from the parking lot to Horseshoe Bend and back.

I think arriving about an hour or hour and a half before sunset should give you enough time to walk down to Horseshoe Bend, take some photos in daylight and stake out the best spot to watch the sunset.

Be sure to walk around and check out the views from different locations. Some places may get crowded, but if you keep walking, you should be able to find an opening. Sit back and enjoy the sunset! It would be lovely to bring along a picnic as well.
