Hiking at Torrey Pines State Reserve
Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve in San Diego has many great trails for hiking as well as beach areas and great views.
I visited Torrey Pines State Reserve in March and wanted to hike the Guy Fleming Trail. There is a small parking area near the trailhead. If that is full, continue up and park at the top near Torrey Pines Lodge.
I parked at the top and walked down to the Guy Fleming Trail, an easy 2/3 mile loop with scenic overlooks. I loved seeing all of the wildflowers and cacti.
It was hazy when I started my hike but cleared up by the end for beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean.
I was there in the morning and the parking lots were filling up, but the trail was not busy at all.
After your hike, check out Torrey Pines Lodge, completed in 1923, for a history of the reserve and more great views out back.
The beaches around Torrey Pines are also an excellent place to relax and watch the sunset at the end of your day.
