Hiking in Smith Rock State Park

Oregon if full of varied landscapes and Smith Rock State Park near Bend is a great example of that.

At Smith Rock, you will find huge rock formations and deep river canyons. Many people enjoy hiking there, as well as rock climbing.

I hiked a few miles on the River Trail, which gave me great views of both the magnificent rock formations as well as the river. I also passed quite a few rock climbers who were fun to watch.

The trail I took was mostly flat, but there are much more challenging hikes if you climb up the rocks for more elevation gain and views from above.
